Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab 4 family of tablets are coming soon.

As expected, they will come in 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch display sizes and, like their forerunners, they will be very much aimed towards the mid-range market. The Galaxy Note tablets will remain the flagship models for Samsung.

All of the tablets, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, will come with 4G LTE connectivity and will feature specifications such as 1.2GHz quad-core processors, 1200 x 800 resolution screens, Android 4.4 KitKat, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. They will also each have a microSD card slot for expansion.

Prices and regional availability are yet to be revealed, but Engadget suggests that they will be available this quarter, so expect to see them any time from now until the summer. You will be able to get all of the models in black or white. We'd also expect coloured variants in other countries at some point in their lifespan too.

UPDATE: The UK details are still to be revealed, but Pocket-lint has been informed that rollout for the new devices will begin this month, April.
