LaCie, the premium brand owned by Seagate, has doubled the capacity of its wireless Fuel hard drive to 2TB. That means iPad owners can back up and store a massive amount of movies, photos and other files to access when out and about.
The LaCie Fuel offers wireless streaming of content to up to five devices without an internet connection, including iPhone and Mac. It creates its own Wi-Fi network and can even be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot; it connects to a Wi-Fi network and up to four devices subsequently connected to the hard drive can then continue to access the internet through it, while still able to access stored content.
It is also AirPlay compatible for mirror content on a larger screen - through an Apple TV, for example. And it comes with a claimed 10 hour battery life.
The LaCie Fuel 2TB model will be available later this month for £189.90. The 1TB model is currently on sale for £169.90.
