Huawei TalkBand B1 smartband will monitor fitness, let you take calls

Huawei has announced its own wearable, the TalkBand B1, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Announced alongside a range of 4G devices, the new wearable device features a 1.4-inch OLED display to give you feedback and information, and the band incorporates a headset, so you can use it to take calls. It features dual mics and will give you 7 hours of talk time.

The TalkBand B1 has USB charging - like the Nike FuelBand - with a claimed 2 weeks of standby.

The TalkBand connects to your phone via Bluetooth 4.1, with NFC in place to ensure a quick and easy pairing process.

The band will give you a range of fitness functions, keeping track of your steps and calories, as well as offering a sleep monitor. It is IP7 water resistant, so there are no worries about wearing it in the shower.

The Huawei TalkBand B1 will be initially launching in China, with a wider roll-out planned for Q2 2014, priced at €99. It will come in a range of colours to suit your style.

Huawei also announced a range of 4G devices, the star of which is the new MediaPad X1, it's 7-inch tablet.
