Microsoft details new Spring Windows 8.1 Update

Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 8.1 will be getting a spring update that tweaks the User Interface and adds a number of new features.

Announced at MWC by Joe Belfiore, the new update will focus on enhancing the experience for keyboard and mice users still struggling after their switch from previous Windows versions.

The new update will bring discoverable search, power, and settings from the start screen.

It’ll also bring new mouse UI for right-click that will let you close apps and get to the Start screen, as well as making app switching possible from the task bar.

The new update, simply dubbed Update 1, will also bring support to a wider range of devices in the future. Minimum specs have been dropped to 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage.
