Xbox One February update delayed, will still come 'this week' though

Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox One February update planned to start rolling out to consoles today has been delayed.

Originally promised for 11 February, the major update that will add a number of new features and stability improvements to Xbox Ones globally has hit a snag. Larry Hyrb, otherwise known as Major Nelson to Xbox fans, posted an announcement on his official Twitter feed. "FYI: The February #XboxOne System Update will ship this week, but not today," he wrote. "The team is working on finalising. More details when I get them."

The revelation came just as Marc Whitten, Xbox chief product officer, announced some of the key changes the March update will bring to the console. Timed to go live just before Titanfall is released, the next UI patch will add and improve party and multiplayer modes and elements.

It was originally to be available from 4 March, but considering today's news you'd be best advised not to take the day off work or school for it. Expect it around that date, but not necessarily on it.
