Polar, the sports watch specialist, has announced the release of its Loop activity tracker band in the UK with an £80 price.

For your money you'll get a black wrist band that, in a world first, also connects to a heart rate monitor for a deeper level of activity tracking. On its own the Loop will track five levels of activity (resting, sitting, low, medium and high), as well as offering guidance and alerts on reaching goals via the connected phone, and it's totally waterproof. It will also track the number of hours you sleep.

The Polar Loop uses a metal clasp for easy removal and attachment, features a retro red light display, a five-day battery, Bluetooth data transfer, the Polar Flow iOS app, and USB data transfer to Mac or Windows machines.

Using Polar Flow you can view all your data and plan goals for the future. Using your individual information including height, weight, age and sex, the Loop offers an accurate measure of calories burnt in the day.

The Polar Loop is on sale in the UK now for £80. The heart rate monitor is sold separately.
