LG has used its 2014 CES press conference to officially announce the much rumoured Nike FuelBand wearable fitness tracker, the LG Lifeband Touch. In addition, it will be releasing companion Heart Rate Earphones, which will play your own heart rate into your ear as audible sound.The Lifeband Touch links to an Android phone, iPhone or dedicated heart rate monitors via Bluetooth and, as well as providing several key fitness statistics and functions, can even tell the time and alert you to when you've received a text or incoming call.Its screen features a touch OLED display and it can register physical activity and display different results, including speed, distance, number of steps, projected paced, and\u00a0the number of calories burnt. It links to the LG Fitness app, but is also compatible with existing applications, such as MyFitnessPal, Runkeeper or MapMyFitness.There's a three-axis accelerometer and altimeter on board, and it can also control music tracks with swipes of the screen.The Heartrate Earphones can work in conjunction with the Lifeband Touch and will let you hear exactly how fast your heart is beating. They feature PerformTek sensor technology which measures blood flow signals from the external part of the ear.Both devices will be available in the US in the first half of 2014. They will then roll out to other territories. Prices are yet to be revealed.
