We caught up with Alcatel at CES 2014 to see its new range of smartphones including the Octa Core Idol X+ and phablet sized POP C9.
Alcatel has announced its One Touch Idol X+ smartphone that packs in a 2GHz Octa Core processor. But it doesn't stop at eight cores, there's also an impressive 5-inch 1080p IPS 441ppi display, 13.1-megapixel camera and its all crammed into a 7.9mm thin body. Alcatel also claims the Octa Core offers an 18 per cent power saving over a quad-core chip. Even the speakers are top level with SACD 24bit/192KHz playback support. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ is powered by a 2500mAh battery and is covered in our hands-on review.
The Alcatel One Touch POP C9 fits into the phablet category with its large 5.5-inch IPS qHD display. It's powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and packs an 8-megapixel camera with flash in the rear with 2-megapixel snapper in the front. It also has a hefty 2500mAh battery.
