LG has taken the wraps off a few details surrounding its Lifeband Touch fitness tracker, ahead of its press event on Monday morning at CES 2014 in Las Vegas.

Details are still scant, but LG does confirm on its South Korean blog that the Lifeband Touch will be waterproof, while tracking calorie consumption, steps walked and more. It pairs with iOS and Android devices over Bluetooth 4.0, which should make for a nice alternative to Nike's Fuelband.

An OLED touch display is found on the tracker, allowing users to check notifications from their phone, accept incoming calls, and control music. The screen section also appears to be detachable from the rest of the band - this is probably how it will be charged - though LG hasn't confirmed. The coloured ring also suggests the Lifeband Touch may visually show notifications from your phone, changing colour depending on the nature of the alert.

LG hasn't given a release date or pricing, but that is sure to come at its 8am PST press event. Pocket-lint will be covering the announcement of the wearable live where we'll get a slew of more information and provide you with hands-on impressions through our LG hub.
