Toshiba Kira Ultrabook heading to UK at last, sporting Haswell processor no less
It's been available in the US for a while, now the Toshiba Kira Ultrabook will make its UK debut in February as the company looks to bring the 13.3-inch laptop to these shores. And what's more, it will get a processor upgrade to an Intel Core i7 Haswell CPU.
The Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit machine has a touchscreen display with a higher than high definition 2560 x 1440 resolution that is protected by Corning Concore glass. It will be available with 8GB of DDR3L RAM and a 256GB mSATA solid state drive for storage, plus Harman Kardon stereo speakers are built into the magnesium alluminium alloy case, with DTS Studio Sound for good measure.
Battery life is claimed to be up to nine hours and the graphics are supplied using an Intel HD 4400 GPU.
Connectivity offered includes three USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, one HDMI socket featuring Ultra HD output, and there is dual band ac Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.0 and Intel Wireless display and Miracast readiness.
A HD webcam with dual microphones has been fitted and the keyboard is backlit. Dimensions are 316 x 207 x 9.5/19.8mm. The Kira weighs 1.35kg.
You can expect to pay £1,299 when it arrives in the country next month.
