The Acer Iconia W4 tablet is coming this month with the latest Intel Atom processor and Windows 8.1.

Acer's Windows tablet will be powered by a fourth gen Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8GHz that Acer says will offer 10 hours of battery life. An impressive claim when you take Windows' IntantGo into consideration, which keeps apps up to date in the background even when the tablet is locked.

The Iconia W4 has an 8.1-inch IPS display with Zero Air Gap technology which removes the air between the touch panel and LCD module to reduce reflection. The resolution is 1280 x 800 which translates to a poor 186 ppi. The W4 also features a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel autofocus rear shooter capable of 720p 60fps and 1080p 30fps video.

The Acer Iconia W4 comes with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 for Word, Excel and PowerPoint docs. The W4 also features Micro HDMI so any presentations, or video, can be easily output to a TV.

The Iconia W4 is 10.75mm thin, weighs 415 grams and will be on sale at the end of January with 32GB for €299 (£250) but also comes with a 64GB option. Both allow for a further 32GB expansion using microSD.
