A successor to Sony's SmartWatch 2 could be unveiled at CES next week in the form of the SmartWatch 3.
According to an FCC product filing, the Sony SmartWatch 3 - referred to as SWR10 BT Wrist Notifier - will come with Bluetooth notifications and NFC like its predecessor.

The Sony SmartWatch 2 was launched only last summer to rival the Samsung Galaxy Gear. But with plenty of wearables expected at CES this year Sony could definitely benefit from an update. Especially as SmartWatch sales have been poor.
The big draw of the SmartWatch is its ability to work with any Android handset, and its wide variety of apps. While the Galaxy Gear might offer a camera and speaker-mic combo it will only work with select Samsung handsets and the apps are sorely lacking.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 is expected to appear at MWC in February. But Sony should reveal its Sony Xperia Z1 Mini at CES so we wouldn't be surprised if the SmartWatch 3 appeared alongside it next week.
