As Louis Armstrong famously sang, what a wonderful world. This little rock, hurtling through space at 67,000 miles an hour, is an astonishing place. Full of life, natural wonder and LOLs (we’re going to gloss over the bad bits  - it is Christmas after all…).

From freakish weather phenomena and incredible wildlife, to stunning landscapes and the wonderfully eclectic nature of the human race, this is a great way to find out a more about some of the places that are a bit off the beaten track.

This has become one of our favourite time-wasters since we discovered it, and we reckon it’s perfect for this week, when lots of places have that last-week-of-school feeling.
