Sony launches compact photo printers

Top models with HDMI out

1 February 2008 13:22 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Sony has launched four new compact inkjet digital photo printers, the DPP-FP95, FP85, FP75 and FP65.

Offering lab-quality small scale printing at home in a compact design, the printers apparently promise high speeds, simple operation and "fun" print features.

Model dependent, Sony technologies in the devices include a BIONZ processor and TruFast technology for 45 second print times, face detection and PC-free auto touch-up.

The DPP-FP95 and FP85 also offers, somewhat unnecessarily, HDMI output for HD optimised viewing of the pics on your television set.

Simple operation (insert memory card, via pics on LCD screen, print) is promised while the DPP-FP95 and DPP-FP85 go a stage further with "fun print options" for creating personalised photo gifts.

The new printers will be available throughout Europe from the beginning of May 2008, no pricing provided.
