As promised by Sky a few weeks back, its Sky Go Android app has landed on tablets today. Head over to Google Play now to download it for free.
The update - which works on most Android tablets running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above - has been in a Beta Trial phase to iron out bugs so it should work well straight from download. The app has been optimised to work with tablets between 7 and 10 inches. Some issues have been reported on the Nexus 7 but Sky is apparently working to fix those now.
There will be some exceptions to the rule. Sky Go won’t ever work on the Asus Transformer TF101, because some streaming issues on this device. The same goes for all Amazon Kindle devices. A kick in the nuts to anyone considering the Kindle Fire HDX which started shipping in the UK today.
