Last Christmas, NORAD switched partners for its annual online Santa Tracker, from Google to Microsoft. And this year that alliance has paid off in spades as the 2013 version has been gloriously optimised for Internet Explorer 11 and tablet use.
NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) has been tracking Santa while he flies around the globe on Christmas Eve for more than 50 years, and in the last few it has been putting the results online on a real-time 3D map of the globe. Children can see exactly where he is at any given time on 24 December.
Microsoft's latest collaboration will run in all browsers, but it has designed the new version to run at its best when using IE11 on a Windows 8 touch device.
There are a number of other new features too that help enhance the site even before Santa has left his home in the North Pole. These include a recreation of Santa's village, an Advent calendar of new browser games - one of which to be revealed every day - and much more.
