Nokia Lumia 1520 to go sale in the UK on 6 December for around £38 a month

After much deliberating about a date Nokia has now confirmed its 6-inch Lumia 1520 will go on sale Friday 6 December.

This is the first Windows Phone handset from Nokia to feature a quad-core in the form of the Snapdragon 800 processor. This extra grunt, backed by 2GB of RAM as another first, means a large screen which is supported at a brilliant 1920 x 1080 resolution. We spent a month using Windows phone to see what it’s like. If you’re thinking of moving read our feature first.

Originally delayed until 2 December in the US this is the first time we’ve had a solid UK release date for the handset. Nokia has told us it will be available on launch day from O2 retail, Vodafone online, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4u and via Micro-P. Prices are around the £38 a month mark - presumably with the handset coming free.

So if you’re looking to try Windows Phone and fancy wireless charging, a 20-megapixel PureView camera, that 3400mAh battery or the latest WP8 OS this is the phone to get.
