Ban dai is hoping to quell fans of popping bubble wrap with a new keyring that is best described as an electronic bubble packaging simulator.

Launched last year in Japan, the device called "Puchi Puchi" will simulate popping bubble wrap when you press one of its eight buttons.

When you press the buttons enough you get rewarded with a random sound like a dog bark or a doorbell.

Available in white, blue and pink, the unit will cost around £5.

Any why Puchi Puchi? It's the Japanese onomatopoeic word to describe the sound of bubbles popping.
