New model will come with 720p movie function

Panasonic has announced a new Lumix DMC-FX35 digital camera with a strong emphasis on making it even easier to take pictures.

The new DMC-FX35 will come with 10 megapixels and a 25mm ultra wide angle lens, a 4x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, as well as the ability to allow users to capture HD quality movies, at 720p alongside its still imaging qualifications.

However where the camera is hoping to score with today consumers is the amount of picture enhancing tech on-board including the now, well for Panasonic, defacto Mega O.I.S image stablising technology and ISO Control function that promises to prevent motion blur.

Adding to the mix, there is also a new Intelligent Scene Selector Function that chooses the appropriate scene mode by automatically selecting the most frequently used setting from modes Portrait, Scenery, Macro, Night Portrait and Night Scenery.

The camera's New Face Detection System automatically detects human faces to set the focus of potential shots and insure the best possible exposure.

Unwanted red-eye effects caused by the flash can now be digitally corrected, and newly added Intelligent Exposure Function controls ISO sensitivity to partially increase the exposure of darkened areas in shot, allowing users to capture scenes suppressing extreme brightness or darkness in images.

The camera's Venus Engine IV also supports a High Sensitivity mode that allows the DMC-FX35 to record at what has to be a noise inducing ISO 6400 setting.

The DMC-FX35 will be available in silver and black later this year. Panasonic has yet to announce a price for the new model.
