Nikon has today announced the Coolpix S210 compact camera that will replace the S200 model launched this time last year.

The new model will offer 8 megapixels, another megapixel to the mix on the S200, and will come with a 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, and incredibly an ISO setting up to ISO 2000.

The new model, which will be housed in a aluminum body like its predecessor will come with according to Nikon "large control buttons to the user-friendly rotary multi selector carefully positioned to provide intuitive operation".

The COOLPIX S210 will be available in a choice of Bright Silver, Urban Black, Pink, Blue, Purple, or Red body colours.

Other tech specs include electronic VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization, improved Face-priority AF, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, 15 scene modes, a macro shooting from 10cm, three movie modes with sound, plus time-lapse movie mode, 52MB of internal memory and PictBridge support.

Nikon say you'll be able to get approximately 220 shots with the included battery.

The S210 will be available March for £179.99.
