Disney has opened an online application site for people to submit their audition videos in the hope of bagging one of two roles in the forthcoming Star Wars movie. It decided to do so after thousands were turned away from the Bristol open casting call at the weekend, after an overwhelming response.
As Pocket-lint reported last week, other open auditions are planned for Glasgow, London, Manchester and Dublin this month, as producers are looking for male and female lead characters.
Those audition sessions are likely to be as well-attended if not more so and hopefuls could also find themselves turned away without even getting a chance to act in front of casting agents.
The online site also lists locations around the US for "in person meet and greet" sessions with casting director Maryellen Aviano, but it is highly recommended that videos are sent through the site's system "as soon as possible".
You can find out more, including the guidelines for an audition video, at opencastingcall2013.com.
Somehow, we don't think Terry from Bristol will get a part.
