Sony has released an official unboxing video for the PlayStation 4 ahead of its North American launch this Friday, 15 November.

Unlike most unboxing videos, it isn't presented by a long-haired hipster with a penchant for using the word "neat" 15 times a minute. Nor does it really show much, to be honest.

We're still excited though. The  90-second clip shows everything you get inside the box with your shiny, new, next-generation machine, including a network voucher for PlayStation Plus, which we presume gives you a 30-day taster of the service you will need to be signed up to in order to play multiplayer games online.

There's also a bunch of leads, a manual or two, a DualShock 4 controller, mono headset and, of course, the PS4 itself. We suspect that the unboxing assistant who desperately wants to be an extra in the Tron Legacy follow-up and/or a test driver for Top Gear going by his gloves, doesn't come with the pack. He will be an optional extra. Probably.

The PlayStation 4  is released  in the UK and Europe on 29 November - a week after the launch of the Xbox One.
