PRESS RELEASE: Advanced, elegant design delivers brighter images, extra definition, digital zoom and an ultra-wide field of view, making it the perfect WebCam for Internet users.Creative (Nasdaq: CREAF) the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet, today announces the Creative WebCam NX Ultra. Designed to give users sharper, clearer imaging and internet video communication, it incorporates the latest CCD technology to deliver ultra-clear video at 640x480 and stills at up to 1.2 megapixels (interpolated), all with richer colours and excellent definition, even in low light conditions.
The Creative WebCam NX Ultra was designed with the needs of Internet users in mind. It is the perfect solution for modern Internet and networking applications such as instant video messaging and videoconferencing. Its digital zoom feature delivers outstanding results and creative flexibility, and is complemented by an ultra-wide field of view that's some 50 percent greater than on a standard WebCam. This enables users to capture extra detail in every frame and to use their imaginations to compose highly distinctive images.
"The WebCam market is growing at a rapid rate," explains Geraldine Lee, European business manager for WebCams with Creative. "That's why Creative is moving ahead to bring users even more of the features they demand.
"We are particularly proud of the high image quality that can be achieved by the WebCam NX Ultra, and together with its broad field of view it makes video-based applications more effective. In addition to these benefits," she adds, "the wide angle enables the system to function highly effectively as a security device."
The WebCam NX Ultra comes with a highly versatile base unit that enables the system to be positioned on flat surfaces, standard monitors, LCDs and notebook displays. A high-quality hands-free headset microphone is also provided due to the increasing popularity of voice and video communications.
"Usability and features are only part of the improvements we have built into this WebCam," adds Geraldine Lee. "Today's WebCam market is highly sophisticated and our users expect style as well as innovation.
"We like to think that the WebCam NX Ultra, with its distinctive brushed aluminium front and rounded lines, offers users the great looks they demand, as well as technology that's perfect both at home and in the office."
Available from PC World, the WebCam NX Ultra will cost £59.99inc VAT. Cameras, Video And Editing, Webcams, Creative, 2 megapixels and below
