Foxconn reportedly testing 12.9-inch iPad for 2014 launch
One of the world's go-to tablets might increase in size by a few inches, if reports out of China turn out to be true.
Apple manufacturer Foxconn is testing a larger 12.9-inch iPad for the company, reports PadNews. The company is said to be targeting a March 2014 unveiling for the "iPad maxi" which would expand past its 9.7-inch iPad and the 7.9-inch iPad mini.
Specifications for the new tablet weren't named, but the rumour comes as Samsung is said to be releasing a Galaxy Note tablet similar in size.
PadNews isn't the first to make claims for a larger iPad out of Apple. We first heard word from the reliable Wall Street Journal in July that Apple had prototyped an iPad with a larger display. Another September report noted that Quanta display, which has manufactured MacBook Air parts for Apple, had parts for Apple's 12-inch iPad in the works.
