Blinkbox PS3 app launched, no more going through the browser
The Blinkbox service now has a dedicated PS3 app, giving more people access to the film and TV service from Tesco.
The new app, available on the Sony console, will let you rent or buy the latest movies and TV shows and joins a host of other devices already Blinkbox-ed up.
"Teaming up with PS3 means we can bring the latest blockbuster movies and quality TV series to even more homes in the UK." says Michael Comish Blinkbox CEO.
That's "homes" bit is key, as currently Blinkbox is still not available on smartphones with the company saying that phone screens aren't big enough to watch movies on.
The app includes all the popular features of Blinkbox apps on other devices including the ability to browse and buy from a vast catalogue of movies and TV, filter by Best Sellers, New Releases, Top Selling and Genre and predictive search to find the movie or TV series you’re after.
Previously PS3 users had to rely on the web browser to access Blinkbox, something that wasn't that great.
No word however on whether there will be a PS4 version of the app when the new next-gen console from Sony launches in November.
