Ricoh is trying to make a name for itself in the high-end camera space, and in doing so, it wants to appease its fans with a limited-edition product. The company has introduced a new GR Limited Edition camera, available in only 5,000 units worldwide.
You'll find the same 16-megapixel, APS-C-sized CMOS sensor, f/2.8 aperture and superb image quality as the regular GR, though the limited edition brings a new-colour body and exclusive accessories.
Specifically, the camera is outfitted with a green wave-patterned look, black grip with a glossy, woodgrain finish, and a lens ring with diamond-engraved GR product name.
Accessory wise, Ricoh is offering a hood and adapter with an "elegant" shrink coating and brown, "genuine-leather" case and strap.
The limited edition unit will be available for $899.95/£699.99 from mid-November 2013. That's £100 more than the regular Ricoh GR we reviewed in August. In our review we noted hit and miss autofocus, low battery life, limited buffer capacity for burst shooting, and clunky manual focus. However, it is well priced for the competition and has exceptional image quality.
Fancy a Ricoh GR? The limited-edition version could be for you.
