Arriving later this Spring is the 10 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd with new MPEG4 video technology. This latest model follows on from the FinePix Z10fd, and inherits its ultra-slim design.
It packs in a Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5 inch LCD screen, and 45MB of internal memory.
The tool of the moment seems to be Face Detection, and this model combines detection of up to 10 faces in a frame with automatic red-eye removal.
A green square surrounds the face of the primary subject on the camera's LCD screen, whilst white squares identify up to nine other subjects.
Fujifilm adds that movement tracking keeps the camera "locked on" to its subjects until they move out of the picture.
But this model also offers Fujifilm’s IrSimpleTM technology, which allows for wireless image transfer to any IrSimpleTM equipped device.
Coupled with this is a new Dual Blog mode, which automatically resizes any still image or movie captured, to make it easier to post pictures and videos to blogs, video-sharing websites like YouTube, or email to friends.
But the key feature of the FinePix Z20fd is its full motion MPEG4 video mode.
Using the Successive Movie mode, photographers can edit in-camera to create a 60 second movie clip. Fujifilm adds that photographers can start and restart multiple times to build a 60-second compilation, and edit the start and end points.
The FinePix Z20fd will be available in the UK from April, but there's no price as yet. Cameras, Fujifilm, Digital cameras, Compact cameras, 10 megapixels
