Vizio Co-Star LT set-top box offers streaming sans-Google TV

Vizio has a new set-top box available for $79.99 (£50), and it's called the Vizo Co-Star LT.

You can use the box to stream movies, series, music and other internet content to your television, as it supports many services and apps, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, Vudu, iHeart Radio and Facebook.

It's actually a lot like the $100 Vizio Co-Star, but it doesn't run the Google TV platform. The new Vizio Co-Star LT sports the Vizio Internet Apps Plus platform. Although you won't get the Google TV experience, you will get support for 720p, 1080p Full HD, 3D content and advanced HTML5.

The Vizo Co-Star LT also features an HDMI input and output, a USB port and 802.11n Wi-Fi connections. There's even a remote control, though you can use a smartphone or tablet control the box.

So, if you want the same features as the company’s original Co-Star box, but without the Google TV software, while saving some money on hardware simultaneously, than the Vizo Co-Star LT is the set-top box for you.
