The eagerly awaited fourth instalment in the Assassin's Creed series, which sees you take to the seven seas as a pirate, has been given a release date for the Xbox 360 and PS3. 29 October will see the game unleashed on the current-gen consoles while those wanting the PS4 or Xbox One versions will have to wait until 22 November.

As if that news wasn't good enough, a new trailer has also been released to whet our appetites further. This video tells the tale of protagonist Edward Kenway giving us a glimpse of some of his backstory and the kind of depth that we can expect from the game.
