Have you met Lez? He's Ken's new mate. No? You will soon. At least you will if you live anywhere near the nation's capital.

As of today, London's new Low Emission Zone, or LEZ, comes into force.

Older, dirtier diesel-engined vehicles will now be banned from the city's streets unless they cough up (literally) a load of readies.

This is the beginning of a phased clampdown on vehicular pollution in the capital and to see if you're affected this is the best source of online info.

It's the thin end of the wedge, this one. You have been warned...
