Samsung launches all singing digi compact

The i80 with MP3 and movie playing

Samsung's i-range, which offers multimedia capabilities as well as camera functionality, has a new addition.

The i80 is an 8.1 megapixel digital compact with 3x optical zoom, 3.0 inch LCD screen, Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS)facility and High Sensitivity shooting up to ISO 3200.

In addition, it offers range of image editing tools to make the shooter's life as easy as possible.

These include Face Detection, Red Eye Fix, 14 scene modes, a photo help guide and self portrait mode.

But for those who want a bit more than photo capture, the i80 also includes a Personal Multimedia Player with MP3, MPEG4 Movie Recording and the option to edit the movie and zoom into it while it's playing.

Pricing and the actual UK launch date have yet to be published but we'll keep you posted.
