A new digital compact, the Samsung i100, is to arrive later this Spring.

The details at this stage are scant but Samsung has said that it'll be a 10.2 megapixel model with a 3x Optical Zoom.

The camera will also boast a 3.0 inch LCD.

Functionality will include tools that have become standard in Samsung models including face detection, function description, Digital Image Stabilisation (DIS) and Auto Red Eye Fix.

High Sensitivity up to ISO 3200 is mooted, and a new "Easy to use" flash interface.

However, this model is also one for music enthusiasts as it incorporates a Personal MP3 Multimedia Player. It also includes MPEG4 Movie recording which ofrfers the option to zoom during recording.

And another nifty feature is Samsung's World Tour Guide, which lists places of interest and facts and figures for all of the countries of our fine planet, so you can snap, bopp and learn all at the same time.

Price and UK launch date are yet to be confirmed.
