Skype updated its iPhone and iPad apps to version 4.13 today, pushing out a slight redesign that closely echoes the new aesthetics found in iOS 7.
The Skype app already had a flat-ish design, though now there's even more white space and a cleaner, simplified look that brings them up to date and in line with iOS 7. Aside from all the visual tweaks, the apps also include improvements to accessibility and enhancements to both audio and video calling.
Specifically, the accessibility improvements include an updated dial pad with touch-type support, a change that allows VoiceOver to announce the sender's name when messaging, as well as new VoiceOver improvements for group chats.
The Skype apps for both the iPhone and the iPad are free. They require iOS 5 on all devices.
