Jawbone's Mini Jambox Bluetooth speaker now available for $180

Jawbone showed off its Bluetooth-enabled Mini Jambox last month in multiple colours, and now the speaker is available for purchase.

Costing $179.99 (£110) at Jawbone.com, the Mini comes in nine colours and five designs including Red Doe, Aqua Scales and Purple Snowflake. Apart from Jawbone's website, the Jambox's miniature sibling will hit US retailers "shortly", as reported by Engadget.

The Mini Jambox is just 6 inches in length, 1 inch wide and a little over 2 inches in height, and it weighs only 9 ounces. Despite its small size, the speaker includes connections for Bluetooth 4.0 (with BTLE), 3.5mm Stereo input and a Micro-USB port for charging.

It's crafted from a single piece of extruded aluminium that doubles as the framework and face of the speaker. Inside, you'll find an aluminium encasement and airtight enclosure. All of this, according to Jawbone, which also made the UP fitness tracker, creates a "maximally efficient acoustic cavity for producing sound".

It also comes with the Jawbone streaming app, which is compatible with iTunes, Spotify and Rdio.  It's a free download on Apple's App Store or Google Play, so check it out for more information.
