Following rumours of a Surface mini, Microsoft's Panos Panay has confirmed that the Surface will one day be available in multiple aspect ratios and sizes.
Panay, the corporate vice president who oversees Microsoft's Surface division, while at a Surface 2 demonstration in Seattle recently, responded to questions about whether Microsoft plans to unveil a Surface mini.
According to GeekWire, he told reporters: “We have a lot of great things that we are thinking about and working on, and there are multiple aspect ratios and sizes and awesome things to come from Surface. That’s the best answer I have for you.”
Apart from smaller sizes, Panay repeated that an LTE-enabled version of the Surface 2 would release early next year. This is something he first revealed during a Reddit Q&A last week.
While not much to go on initially, Frank X. Shaw, the lead corporate communications for Microsoft, later retweeted Panay's comments via the GeekWire story. It therefore appears as though Shaw either liked what Panay had to say or knows that a larger Surface or Surface mini (maybe even both) is in the works.
