Pictures and specifications of what is alleged to be a small, mini-sized follow-up to the Sony Xperia Z1 have appeared online.
The Sony Xperia Z1 f has previously been talked about as the Honami mini, a smaller version of the recently launched flagship Sony phone in the same mould as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini or HTC One Mini.
The leaks, published by Xperia Blog, are said to have come from NTT DoCoMo documentation for Japanese dealers. They show that the Xperia Z1 f will come with the same 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor as the larger Z1, but with a smaller display. It will be 4.3-inches rather than 5.
Resolution also takes a dip, from Full HD to 720p (1280 x 720). And the battery will be smaller as it doesn't have to work so hard. It will be 2,300mAh in preference to 3,000mAh.
The RAM will be the same, 2GB, and significantly so will the camera. The Xperia Z1 f will have the same 20.7-megapixel sensor on the rear, 2-megapixel on the front. And it will also be water resistant to IP55/IP58 standards.
Interestingly, there will be more colour options for the smaller model if the leaks are anything to go by. Black, white, pink or red and green variants are shown.
No other details are revealed, but if this is really an NTT DoCoMo document, we expect to find out more soon.
