The new suite of photo and video editing tools form Adobe aim to extend their reach into mobiles and tablets to take editing on the move to another level.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 features Elements Mobile Albums, powered by Adobe Revel. Users can view, edit and share photos and videos on smartphones, tablets and desktop devices. This version is built to support 64-bit Macs for more efficient editing - although there was no mention of whether this applies to the iPhone 5S and its 64-bit A7 chip.
Other extras include Content-Aware Move that lets you move objects within a photo while auto filling the empty space, Pet Eye Correction for those many cat snaps, Auto Smart Tone for one click adjustments, Quick Frames Effects and Textures for one-click creation of each, Guided Edits for tutored Zoom Burst and Photo Puzzle effects as well as old photo restoration. The Straighten Tool now fills in missing edges while Share to Twitter has been added for the social users.
Adobe Premier Elements 12 has also added Guided Edits for getting started, trimming frames, adding scores, transitions, titles, narration and animating graphics and creating pictures within pictures. There are now more than 50 soundtracks available in Scores and 250 effects in Sound Effects. Four new film filters have been added including Comic, Trinity, Yesteryear and Cross Process. Motion Tracking is a new option for spotlighting subjects by adding graphics, text and effects.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and Adobe Premiere Elements 12 for Mac and Windows are out now, each for £78.15 or a £63.49 upgrade price. The bundle with both is £117.22 or £96.71 for the upgrade. Adobe Revel, for iOS and Windows devices is a free app with up to 50 photo or video uploads free every month.
