As previewed by Pocket-lint at 2007's IFA tech-fest, Loc8tor has launched the Loc8tor "Lite" in the UK.

The credit card sized Loc8tor Lite is smaller and lighter than the previous models meaning it fits easily into a wallet or purse, claims the company.

The new slim Loc8tor Lite measures 6mm thick and uses active RFID technology to guide you to within an inch of any tagged item.

Apparently unlike anything else currently available on the market the Loc8tor Lite uses both audio and visual cues to point you in the right direction of lost possessions that are within 400 foot (122 metres).

The Loc8tor Lite is supplied with two mini homing tags that can be attached to almost anything from keys to pets using the key ring loop or the adhesive strips provided.

An option to register two additional tags means that the device can locate up to four different items.

The Loc8tor Lite is on sale now for £44.99.
