Olympus announces a new generation of "mju" cameras
Two new slim, stylish additions

Olympus' spring line-up includes two new models for the mju line-up - the Olympus µ [mju:] 840 and µ [mju:] 1010.
The two models share their TruePic III image processors, 2.7 inch screens, Dual Image Stabilisation system, Face Detection and BrightCapture Technology, as well as a new in-camera panorama function.
Both also offer movie recording with sound up to VGA resolution at 30fps.
The mju 840 packs in 8 megapixels and a 5x optical zoom.
Its Super Macro function supports a minimum shooting distance of 3cm.
It is compatible with Olympus xD-Picture Cards, and comes Starry Silver, Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Candy Pink.
Its high resolution brother is the mju 1010, which delivers
10.1 megapixel image and has a 7x optical zoom.
This model also comes with an ultra-slim LI-50B rechargeable battery with an increased lifespan of 25%, claims Olympus.
It is available in Starry Silver, Midnight Black and Royal Blue.
The manufacturer adds that there is an underwater case, the PT-042, available for this camera, which will allow snapper to shoot to a water pressure equivalent of 40m.
The Olympus µ [mju:] 840 and µ [mju:] 1010 will be available from February at £199.99 for the 840 and £229.99 for the 1010.
