Nvidia Tegra Note to come in many guises, Zotac Tegra Note 7 joins the party
The Nvidia Tegra Note 7-inch tablet will be rebadged and released by multiple manufacturers in much the same way as the company's PC graphics cards. And the first third-party company to announce to Pocket-lint that it will be releasing a version of the new device is Zotac, but it told us that other manufacturers will also soon follow suit.
The Zotac Tegra Note 7 is effectively the same tablet device Nvidia unveiled earlier this week. It has a 7-inch HD IPS LCD screen (1280 x 800), runs on the Tegra 4 mobile chipset comprising a quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor with fifth battery core and a 72-core GPU, and comes with a stylus supported by Nvidia DirectStylus software.
A 5-megapixel camera is on the rear, 0.3-megapixel one on the front, and stereo speakers on the face are matched by a bass port. On-board storage is offered in just one flavour, 16GB, but there's a microSD card slot available for expansion.
The Zotac Tegra Note 7 will also come with two pre-installed games: Eden to Green and Zen Pinball THD. It will also come with raw Android, most likely Android 4.3.
"We are excited to partner with Nvidia on this amazing tablet. Mobile gamers can give their existing Android game library a performance boost while taking advantage of Tegra-enhanced THD titles for superior visuals with the Zotac Tegra Note 7," said Carsten Berger, senior director of Zotac International.
"We pre-install a couple of THD-enhanced titles on the Zotac Tegra Note 7 to give gamers a visual taste of the future of Android gaming."
No price details have been revealed officially yet, but it is expected it will retail at the £179.99 price point revealed by Nvidia a couple of days ago. Expect to see it in the UK "in the next few months".
