Nikon Coolpix S02: Tiny compact gets a bit more muscle

Nikon has updated it's tiny compact camera, the Coolpix S02, bringing a better sensor to this diminutive snapper.

The Nikon Coolpix S02 now has a 13-megapixel CMOS sensor, rather than the CCD sensor of last year's S01 model. It now offers Full HD video capture, meaning you'll be able to capture those video moments in great detail.

To help you view those Full HD videos back there's now an HDMI connection on the bottom, so you can easily hook it up to a TV.

The Coolpix S02 has a 2.7-inch touch display on the rear, which is also the main method for control, the small body not giving much space for buttons or dials.

You also can't access the battery and there's no memory card slot, so you'll be dependent on the 7.3GB internal memory to store those pictures and videos.

It's cute, it comes in an array of pretty colours and it fits neatly into the palm of your hand, your back pocket or the bottom of your bag.

The Nikon Coolpix S02 will be available from 19 September 2013 for £119.99.
