Imagine a tablet that could be extended into a 15-inch 16:9 display-cum-desktop PC. That is the idea behind the Apollon concept.

On the go the Apollon is a tablet companion, around the 8-inch mark. But thanks to a flexible screen, spun around rollers at either end, the tablet can be pulled out into a larger 15-inch display. But it doesn't stop there.

The larger screen can be dropped into a dock which has further processing power, more RAM, and a larger SSD to bring it up to desktop level performance. It can also be connected to this dock wirelessly using Wi-Fi Direct.

While we love this idea, the reality of putting a screen on rollers may still be a few years off. But it's great to see what the future could hold for converging devices.
