Twitter updated its #Music iOS app on Friday with features that both improve listening recommendations and provide new ways of discovering music for users.
Twitter said #Music for iOS will now scan an iPhone's music library, enabling the music app to suggest more personalised recommendations on relevant artists. Also, instead of listening to an artist's song served up by the app, users will now have the option to choose from an artist's top tracks. The app will even show the artists that users have tweeted about on Twitter.
Twitter has also localised #music into a user's favourite languages. "If you're one of those good looking people living in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, or Switzerland then we've got you covered," explained the app's description.
Twitter launched its #Music app about four months ago, but all the buzz has since quietened down. Twitter is no doubt hoping this newest update will not only bolster the app but also encourage more users to try it.
