Steve Jobs began his keynote speech at the Macworld2008 by stating that before he looked forward to what was coming in 2008, he wanted to look back at the successes of 2007.

Jobs stated that 2007 was an "extraordinary year" for Apple, with the launch of an "awesome" iPod and the "revolutionary" iPhone as well as the launch of the new Mac operating system Leopard, or Max OS X.

Jobs stated that an "amazing" five million copies of Leopard have been sold, making it the most successful release of a Mac OS ever with 20% of users upgrading in first 90 days.

Describing Leopard as a "critical success", Jobs quoted industry journos as stating that the new OS has been described "better and faster than Vista".
