YouTube topped off our weekend by adding a handy feature that lets you know which browser tab of YouTube is playing audio. This fixes what was once a huge confusion if you had multiple YouTube tabs open when going to mute a specific video.
Yes, we know what you're thinking - this is huge news indeed. It's a minor change, but can be very satisfying for the audiophile within all of us.
Interestingly, the feature works in all browsers - Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer. It isn't tied down to being some fancy Chrome feature, but works instead within YouTube's code putting a Unicode character to the title of the YouTube page.
We have to wonder, maybe Google (and other browser makers) will add such a feature to all audio-playing tabs. For the tab hoarder in us, we can only hope to wait and see.
