Google sends press invites to 24 July 'breakfast' event with Android head

Google on Wednesday sent out press invitations to an event in San Francisco scheduled for 24 July.

The invitations specifically asked the press to join Sundar Puchai for breakfast. He's the senior vice-president for Android and Chrome at Google. Many reports have therefore speculated that the mysterious event is somehow Android related, although the invitations do not specify this.

It's also worth noting that Google's event will occur exactly one day after Verizon's Droid announcement, so Pichai could shed more details on the upcoming Moto X, a new Nexus 7, Android 4.3, etc.

The event, which will host a livestream, kicks off at 9am PST (5pm BST) - so stay tuned for more.
