Huawei's rumoured Ascend W2, which appeared in a leaked press image last month, has now been photographed in real life. The phone is designed to be a value for money Windows Phone from Huawei and will be the second WP8 device the company has produced.

The phone uses a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 resolution display. Spotted by Engadget at the Mobile Asia Expo, the phone is clearly designed to be an affordable Windows Phone device. It uses a Qualcomm 1.4GHz dual-core processor, which is the same as that found in the W1 but faster. The handset also features 512MB or RAM and comes with 8GB of built in storage, as well as microSD expansion.

The W2 comes with a 1,700 mAh removable battery and uses full-size SIMs. Colour choices include red and yellow. A nice twist is that the three backlit touch-sensitive keys on the phone will colour match your live tile colour on Windows Phone 8. Build quality is said to be good and the phone has a Nokia Lumia 920-style glove mode, which means you can use the smartphone without taking your gloves off in the cold.

There is no UK pricing or release date for the phone just yet, but you can expect it to be emerging fairly soon, especially given it is ready for sale out in Asia.
