Samsung's Magna Carta app for free Jay-Z album lands on Google Play

Samsung has launched the Magna Carta app on Google Play.

The smartphone manufacturer previously promised a free copy of Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail to Galaxy owners when the album releases in July, and now the company has followed through with a dedicated smartphone app that will enable fans to download the record.

Only 1 million Galaxy S 4, S III and Note II owners will have access to the album, as well as behind-the-scenes footage, lyrics and track sharing options. Those who download the app can even listen to Magna Carta Holy Grail three days before the rest of the world.

The free app is now live on Google Play, but the album is not available until 4 July. The global release date for Jay-Z's new album is set for 7 July.

Samsung also created a video earlier this month to show off Jay-Z's recording process and help tease its special app. Check out the video below.
