Cambridge Audio has announced the Minx M5 speaker system. Designed to bring powerful audio from a pair of satellite speakers and a subwoofer, they are the ideal accessory to give your laptop a bit of a boost.

At 72.5 x 72.5 x 73.8mm, the two satellites are nicely compact. Then there is the included subwoofer, which is 1 x 135mm in size. Neither should take up much space on your desk. The speakers also come with a set of stands to raise them off your desk.

The Minx M5 uses a straight USB input for audio and a high-quality DAC for digital audio processing. The Minx M5 also features a desktop control hub so that you can control things like power and volume, as well as an easy to access auxiliary input for plugging in other audio sources. Finally there is an integrated headphone socket to listen to music on the quiet.

The Minx M5 costs £149 and is available to buy now from the Cambridge Audio website
