Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini pictures and hands-on
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is an S4 in design, if not quite cut from the same cloth. Pinning the S4 label on it might confuse some, as this smaller-format Galaxy device doesn't quite match up to its bigger brother.
In the hand it feels every bit like the Samsung Galaxy S4, except of course that the screen comes in at 4.3-inches. It's more compact, which may appeal to some, but despite its mostly plastic construction, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini feels like a good-quality handset.
The 4.3-inch display offers a resolution of 960 x 540 which is reasonable but won't blow you away in terms of detail, but the AMOLED panel is bright and vibrant, making Android 4.2.2, skinned with Samsung's usual customisations, look very nice. The viewing angles on the display are great and in our short time with the handset we can say we're impressed by what the Mini will do.
It's a fairly slick experience, but the 1.7GHz dual-core processor lacks the power of top-tier devices. However, you get an 8-megapixel camera on the rear as well as a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera for those essential selfies, so Samsung hits all the right points.
There's little else to say about the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini until we have it in for a full review, but it looks like a hot little handset.
